Between August 2023-June 2024 I indulge myself in studies of art and literature. All of this through different outlets: acrylic painting, book and movie analysis, dance, culinary techniques, cultural history, crochet, etc.
ArtThis year I have been working in multiple art mediums. I prefer to work on long term, larger scale projects.

At the end of last school year I started getting into dance and performing at school art shows. I started crocheting a dress/sculpture before this school year started and brought it with me into my Pilot work. After that I started to brainstorm ideas for paintings, some I came up with and loved the idea of but never found the time to do them. But the ones I did get done I ended up really liking which is new for me and my work. I made a small 3D painting. Over the winter holidays I got a Canon Rebel SL3 and started to take pictures, mostly portraits. To get my standard for 'Responding'(AE4.1 describe, interpret, understand, and evaluate art) I found artists online and wrote reflections on their work. I've started to crochet clothing for myself and others on commission, mostly tops but I made myself a wearable dress as well with plans to continue making more in the future.
English
|
I started the chapter of my english work by reading and analyzing books and the movies made after them.
And I read more! I have been trying to read as many books as I have time for. This isn't my top priority, so I haven't been able to finish as many books as I would like to.

Culinary Arts
Being gifted cookbooks inspired me to study Italian cuisine and history relating to food! I created my own graphic organizer to write notes in after studying 8 dishes from across the regions of Italy. Over 8 weeks (one for each dish), I planned to write my long research essay to be assessed on for my English proficiencies.
